Shipments getting lost entirely?

I think I know what's happening.

I just sent out a shipment, it went successfully, but about 5 minutes later I was unexpectedly disconnected and when I came back in the shipment had disappeared.

I really, really hope that this isn't what's causing the problem.

Because Path of Exile (a game that is INFAMOUS for unexpectedly disconnecting you) would never design an entire league around a mechanic that can be annihilated by random disconnects. Right?

If that is what's causing this then it would mean that random disconnects happen so frequently that the player base don't even notice them any more, so it took us this long to realise it was the source of the problem.

Mark my words: If this happens with POE2 then new players will try it, get annoyed by it, and never play it again.

Because they the hell should they?

It is freaking 2024. "Always Online" video games don't randomly kick you out any more. And if they do they go bankrupt like so many live service games have recently.

No ransom value when the ship gets comander also even with 0% chance risk. think theres several bugs at play.

just had 800k worth shipment gone without a trace, resources lost, sailors back in dock without anything.

-was online all the time, half of it afk
-i;m sure it was properly sent out as timer was working correctly on it

Also lost my shipment, sent it out with everything i had and went to bed
Went online now and no sign of the shipment, all my resources still got taken

I've also had a couple shipments disappear without any notifications as to why. One was overnight (8-12 hours in between logins). My most recent was today within a one hour afk timespan on an estimated 40 min shipment.

Same thing happened to me now several times. Really frustrating ... it's just gone without a trace. The crew is back safe and sound but the good have vanished.

Of course no comment from GGG :(

Just had the same happen to me, I had 2 shipments to claim, one of them was half lost. There were 2 "Get Rewards" buttons highlighted.

I claimed that half shipment, closed the shipment tab, opened it again, just to see the "Select Port" button on both of them, when I still had one entire shipment to claim.

This happened to me 3 times today, hasn't happened before this. 1 was a 2mil shipment, and 2 were 100 value commandeer baits thankfully.

Did any of you maybe upgraded the docks while a shipment was already in route to its destination? I've only lost 1 shipment and it was right after i did an upgrade while ships where active.

I have a theory as to what's going on.

There's an outcome of "Our entire shipment has been lost!"



I never received any notifications for this, etc - I just happened to accidentally open it and see it. I wonder if all these "disappearing ships" have had this outcome and returned to doc. I haven't seen what the UI looks like yet (I'm curious, that's why I'm letting it finish rather than abandoning), but it's possible that there's no message/etc that the shipment was lost.
