I thought they migrated to standard a week before the new league?

usually im not around at the end of league, but i seem to recall migration to standard used to happen a week, or even two, before the new league launched. is that no longer the case? wanted to try something in standard but need something i have on my necro toon. do we know when the migration will happen?

I saw them post the league end date somewhere, I think its in the next few days. There will be a gap between the migration and the new league start, the don't do it at the same time. I think it is usually in the last week, but might be variable. I'll see if I can find the link.

The league usually ends a few days before the next one. So Tuesday 23rd US time.

as an aside, giving us a two week gap between ending one league and starting the next might actually inspire people to play around a little in standard.

Maybe a few days is too short, but I think that might be too long as well. You can migrate earlier if you want. They have an option for player to migrate the leagues beforehand, It might be simpler at this point to wait for GGG to do it though. Some players will still be playing the league though and not wanting for it to end for as long as possible. There might be reasons why you would not want to migrate before the patch notes in particular.

You cannot manually migrate from the current league to Standard until the current league has ended. Although you don't have to wait until the new league goes live and the realm goes down any more - the addition of the manual migration button solved the impatience :)
