Rage stacking

A mini-exercise for reference. This post for now will show what stacking rage could offer, and to help with the question "is this enough." For now I'm feeling mild to moderate investment is good enough.

Baseline max stacks is 30, effectively:
- 30% more Attack damage

If we look at the passive tree, assuming I am to use 34 passive points from the Marauder starting position to collect the 4 wheels granting maximum rage. The passive tree alone provides an additional 30 rage stacks: 10 from Battle Trance, 7 from the rage mastery, in the Veteran's Wrath wheel two travel points that grant 3 rage stacks each, in the Vengeance wheel one travel point that grants 2 rage, and finally 5 from Berserking.

Vengeance however also grants 1% increased Armour per rage.

If you happen to be a Berserker and select Crave the Slaughter, you are granted 1% increased Attack Speed per rage.

If we grab the rage mastery for movement speed, we are given 1% Movement Speed per 5 rage.

Effectively:
- 60% more Attack damage
- 60% increased Armour
- 60% increased Attack Speed
- 12% increased Movement Speed

If you also select Rite of Ruin as a Berserker (without Berserk), we receive 50% rage effect. And my assumption would be X*1.5 , thus the following:

- 90% more Attack damage
- 90% increased Armour
- 90% increased Attack Speed
- 18% increased Movement Speed

The Berserk skill gem likely still has the rage loss mechanic, I'm assuming it'd be annoying to use while mapping and will mainly be used to burst a rare/unique monster. From the patch notes "It now provides 40% increased Rage Effect at gem level 1, scaling up to 59% at gem level 20."

34 passive points is significant however.

FYI - please don't take this as a firm "this is great" post.

its capped at 30% more damage, doesnt even matter, with all the defensive nerfs, you arnt gonna keep that damage up, and certainly cant spare that many points.

looks good on paper but go to your PoB and do the changes, you end up with same damage but less survivability with the nerfs

I also read that in the patch notes:

"
Rage has been made more fundamental and discoverable. Rage now grants 1% more Attack Damage per Rage gained, to a maximum of 30

But I was unsure if they just meant that it caps out at 30% as the Rage cap is inherently 30. If you are right, that it actually caps out at 30% no matter how much Rage you stack, Stacking rage seems... Useless. As English isn't my native language, I'm not sure how to interpret that sentence.

Purposefully obfuscatory
That is a messy description but it can't be capped at 30% more attack damage, it would make every passive associated with it pointless except for Zerker or 1% armour per rage which would be the worst value of any node lol
Probably worth getting some clarification from GGG.

My interpretation was from this link that shows the new passive tree, got it from alkaizer's stream https://pathofpathing.com/?v=3.25.0-pre#AAAABgMAAgEA1K_UrwAA

Hovering over a rage node it contains the description: Every Rage grants 1% more Attack damage. Maximum Rage is 30. Two separate sentences ... while in the patch notes (as visualize and phrazz pointed out) are different, suggests there is a cap to how much more attack damage one can receive from rage. 30% more attack damage while at 60 rage stacks is definitely not worth 34 passive points.

Path of Syntax :/
