We're "stuck into this ruthless thing" because Ruthless directly caused or significantly contributed to several of your pain points.

Point 1 - Combat is slow and clunky. This is because you don't have good items and you don't have access to support gems, which happened because you were playing Ruthless.

Point 2 - More refund points. The orb of regret is an extremely common currency drop which gives you respec points, and even as early as act 2/3 you should start seeing them drop unless you are playing in Ruthless.

Point 3 - Town portal scrolls CAN be assigned to a button, and they are extremely common drops unless you are playing in Ruthless.

I actually gave it another change to my existing character in Ruthless league :), since I found out about that overlay map, which can actually be moved.

I`m now lvl 30 in Act III and the game seems a bit more fluent now.

Who knows, maybe I`ll make it to max lvl until PoE 2 is out :).
