Aspect items need a bit of love
Let´s hope GGG has a look at this, these items and auras really deserve to be looked at. They´re awesome concept.
The aspect skills and their uniques are a bit outdated, unfortunately so. I think they just need a bit of tuning to be actually really, really good. Aspect of the Crab for example is a massively underrated "Aura". 2% PDR for each crab barrier, with 10 crab barriers as a level 20 craft, 12 crab barriers as a level 30 craft and another 5 crab barriers from the chest you´re looking at 17 crab barriers for an insane 34% PDR (!!). That´s absolutely nuts and extremly strong. The downside on this is a bit too heavy though, which is why this particular aspect is barely used. You need 0.5 seconds to generate one crab barrier -> 0.5 seconds * 17 crab barriers = 8.5 secs of not getting hit by physical damage to get to max crab barriers. And that´s one of the issues with these items and mechanics. They are balanced around a time in PoE that wasn´t as fast with as many mobs as we have today. 8.5 seconds is equal to eternity in todays PoE. Another issue is that it´s on an armour base. You want to not get hit when using this armour but lose a huge chunk of evasion rating because it´s an armour base instead of an evasion base. Fenemus Shroud is another case, that in combination with the Aspect of spider could be an strong alternative to whatever existing chests we have: - Huge ES regen (doesn´t need a buff IMO) - -10% all resistances to enemies effected by spider web (needs a buff, maybe 15%?) - Enemies deal 10% less damage (needs a bit bigger of a buff, maybe 15%?) One of the biggest downsides IMO is the base of the item. Widowsilk is such a bad base for an item like this. IMO this should be on a Evasion / ES base with increased Evasion/ES mod instead pure ES. This could potentially open up so many builds for Tricksters. There is many more examples, though I remember Mark saying to make the posts not too long so I´ll leave it at this. TLDR: Aspects and their uniques could single handly open up a LOT of builds options, they just need some love.
