Map scarabs and all flames consumed, but no portals opened

I had a map ready to open with a devoted mod "weapons dropped convert to chaos".

Before activating it and opening the portals, I left it and went do a trade, when I came back and activated the map, the map device didnt open any portals, just disabled and consumed my map, scarabs and allflames I was using.

I tried leaving the hideout as this happened to me before and the reentry to hideout fixed, but not this time.
