PIllar of the Caged God is a real let down for me;

Shouldn't be too bad with Bringer of Rain, the extra block chance can work well with a staff.
Then again you lose out on a lot of stats, and Abyssus gives crit which also happens to work well with a staff. |

Probably the most reasonable item setup for such a build is:
Helm: Abyssus (20-25 to str,dex,int) cost: 3 exalts Chest: Good Astral Plate (40-50 str) cost: 5 gcp's? Boots: Lioneye's (30-50 str,dex) cost: pennies Gloves: Physical damage and other useful glove stuff (30 str?). cost: 5 gcp's? Rings: A mix of stats, physical damage (60 str, 50 dex, 30 int). cost: 10 gcp's? Amulet: Astramentis ( 100 str,dex,int) cost: 3 exalts Belt: Meginord's (60 str) cost: 5 gcp's? Weapon: 5L Pillar cost: 5 gcp's? Total cost: 8 exalts. Pretty average for an end-game build imo. Add up stats from the skill tree, and you're looking at around 700 str, 400 dex, 300 int for a reasonable end-game pillar build. If you looked at the thread in General Discussion, I posted my Pillar character in Default which is a Leap Slam Character.
Results are, Marohi 4L was superior in dps (and AOE) to the 5L Pillar! But I haven't given up on it. I made a Fire Trap Detonate Dead build using Pillar and stacked int. The results are quite hilarious with 107% Increased AOE at the moment. Guild #YoloSwag <SWAG>

" Nice build, mind posting the relative DPS and the total int/dex/str totals so we can look at it in more detail? Also for the fire trap build, do you use burning damage? I can't help but feel its a cool idea, but that searing touch fire trap is just so much more damage |

" Oops, I posted on the other thread but forgot on this one. I have around 860-960STR with this build, so there are no Mace or Staff nodes, just STR and life nodes where possible. AS you can see this is optimized for the Pillar, yet Marohi is still better. I'm looking forward to any buffs planned towards the Pillar as it is an incredibly crap item at its current stats. DPS wise, I believe both heavy strike to be around 12k (can't really remember from memory, but remember that Pillar attacks many times per second as smaller hits compared to marohi). Leap Slam Marohi did more damage I believe. Also Fire Trap Det Dead damage comes from Det Dead which does enough damage without searing touch. The AOE radius increase from the Pillar and 2 Perandus Signets are absolutely hilarious and are worth doing IMO. " simple math? 23-38 + 17-35 (excluding bringer of rain for now) x 1.25 aps x 1.8 ias (lets say 40 from staff and 40 from gear / passives) x lets say 200% physi increases + 900 str ave = 1100% physical increase STAFF 40-73 x 1.25 x 1.8 x 12 = 1081 - 1971 = around 1500 base dps before all other constants (melee physical damage, crit etc) MAROHI 372 - 577 + 17 - 35 x 0.85 x 1.4 x 4.8 (380% with 900 str / 5 and 200% physi increase) = 389 - 612 x 0.85 x 1.4 x 4.8 = 2221 - 3495 = 2858 base dps before multipliers almost double dps O_O the horrible low base dmg of pillar ruins it bigtime imo |

Indeed...it's incredibly disappointing that they made an item with such interesting mods, and turns out that even a low level twink can't even use it, not to mention a build that's completely built for this item!
