Bladefall overlap behaviour change (bug?)

I wanted to test out bladefall again this league, and it turned out that regular bladefall won't get additional overlap with spell cascade or awakened spell cascade anymore

Maybe it's still possible but I was not able to make it happen doing poison testing

From what I can tell the new bladefall now has the same mechanic as bladefall of volleys, making it wider for each wave, this is plainly visible doing testing in hideout looking at the wave spread and also the spread of blades left in the ground, they will follow a distinct V shape

This was certainly not the case before the introduction of the new gems

If this behavior isn't intentional would love a fix so I can play bladefall again
