Animate weapon of ranged arms

I tried to first search if there's already a post about the AI of animate weapon of ranged arms. It seems to be behaving very oddly in areas that are tight/limited but with monsters visible. Normally, minions would follow a player if it cannot get to the mob, or in a more aggressive AI setting such as raging spirit, it will seek the way to the mob to attack. However, I've noticed that Animate Weapon of Ranged arms DO NOT follow me if it sees but cannot attack the monster on the screen, while my other minions such spectres or animate guardians that are melee will actually either follow me or pursue the monster automatically. Once the said monster is dead, THEN the animate weapon of ranged arms will follow. Is this AI design for animate weapon of ranged arms intentionally made like this? This behavior actually render this minion less useful for maps that are not open area, of which there are quite a bit. It would be good if the ranged arms can actually follow instead of stop / seem to be stuck in place. Thanks for listening, and for introducing this awesome transfigured gem nonetheless.
