PoE became annoying game - build maker and enthusiast perspective
From designing a build, getting thru acts, starting mapping, lab, farming and by the time you make a char capable of blasting the endgame (what is actually only fun thing right now) you don't really want to play it anymore. You're burned out.
Everything is such a chore fest that even rerolling new char just deters me from playing the game. You have to account for million different things when making a build that can handle the endgame with relative ease. Immunities, chaos res, max res, mitigations, avoidances, reservations, then stack all of those, then somehow cram in there several dozen million of dps. Item bases, corruptions, implicits, influences, item mod rolls... Holy f*ck this game is hostile to it's players (and having fun) in every way possible. Now on top of it all you make league like Necropolis, to the brink of, can the game be any less fun that this right now? Every zone from Act 1 is by default harder than ever. Transition from start to end game is harder than ever. Convoluted mandatory use of scarabs. Broken economy due to several exploits by few. Gated content. Obnoxious crafting system I have 0 desire to interact with even if it would shit out all t1 items, I JUST DON'T WANT TO BOTHER MYSELF WITH IT. I don't want to be required to aim for those items in the first place. Game is too hard to be played by someone who has any real life obligations. Spreadsheets??? I'll just finish with black and white example of what this game was and what it is now. Fully Agreed.
With each next league game becoming less acceptable for more and more regular people, and made for enthusiasts/streamers mainly,who's playing 16+ hours day. To be honest if GGG can shared a league atlas progress statistics in current league - it will be super interesting to saw what % of all players on trade Necropolis fully completed 115/115 atlas,4/4 Voidstones and at least 8/12 Favourite map slots currently. Im bet - that % will be less than 3-4%. And that in 3rd week of the league. And after this they nerfing almost every kind of content in this leaguem and locking Ubers(Which 99.8% of player base not killing - every league) behind t17's. That's ridiculous. Yup, I have pretty much the same problems, except I'm nowhere near able to actually put down 200-ish divines for anything, and I was looking forward to the crafting.
Everything is moving along too slowly. Everything is too inconsistently difficult. One map may be close to a breeze, the next you get smothered with several tier V or higher pisser mods you can do nothing about - Icing on the cake: You don't know those mandatory mods you'll get shoved down your throat until it's too late to do anything about them. So you either toss away the map (and all the respective resources you put into it) or kiss goodbye your hard-earned XP. The crafting has done nothing for me, for that matter. Every craft that involved a couple dozen corpses has whiffed in some major way, leaving me with mostly half-assed items that don't really help me move anything forward. And allflames? Yeah, those haven't done much of anything for me either. At the best of times they helped me stock up on sulphite quickly, so I could minimize the time spent playing maps with crap-pinata surprise mods that are waiting to fuck me over again. How have these league mechanics not been 100% optional from the get-go? Someone needs to explain to me in no uncertain terms what mental gymnastics it took to greenlight this league without making at least the worst bits and pieces of it optional. Do you remember when people said that these affliction mods that you'd never know the magnitudes of were a problem? And GGG's solution is a league that's giving us the important information right after "launching" a map, at which point the only way an informed decision can manifest is by way of playing or not playing a map? same feel, it all became so tedious
POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1. |

For the people that used to deliver "end game-viable" copy pasta builds the options for sure have gotten more limited with the introduction of T17s. I can totally see the frustration for those build makers. Imagine the amount of people PMing them asking if the build is viable for T17s xD
For the player the point where you could finally breathe was when you could farm T16s and chill. With the heavy focus on map mod effect the loot feels rather weak without the use of scarabs and a decent amount of map effect. A LOT of the old builds just can't combine those two and especially not in T17s. Thus the breathing room is gone. I fear the burnout will come quick. To much micromanage , i work a job already haha Less and less viable builds every leauge , mellee ??? LOL Alkaizer said it too , “ good players “ in 2024 PoE are those who can stay 3 days without sleep in Lstart and play 16 hour a day Im disapointed too and i have 16.000 hours … Game used to be so much more fun, 3.13 ritual you could pick any skill from The vendor and make a viable build Your strength is the law !!

Core Content changed, content nerfed, content forced onto us, skills nerfed to oblivion, monster mods starting to resemble nemesis, syndicate nerfed, lab crafts nerfed, scarabs bad, atlas changes, master missions removed, the list goes on. GGG has turned into a bunch of clueless amateurs. I expect this developer nonsense from Blizzard, not from GGG. If this is how much mess they make poe 1 .... then poe 2 will be dead game at launch. Stop messing up poe 1. |
