Thorough Exploration seems to mess with boss drops

I ran about 20 maps with Thorough Exploration, Destructive Play and all the boss drops extra map nodes, and maven witness, and each map the bossed dropped almost nothing, specifically not a single elderslayer or shaper/elder guardian map, except when doing the maven invitation after. Got suspicious after having a map where i got to boss halfway, so before Thorough Exploration procced, and dropped a Shaper guardian map. Took it off, and in the 3 following maps i have gotten a 2 elderslayer and 2 synthesis maps, as well as a awakened gem. Only other change to Atlas was removing 1 Maven Witness Additional Boss Chance small node, and getting 2 of the bonus quantity nodes.
