If T17 maps still are required for a 5th map slot next league I will not be back.

That's my line in the sand.

No I don't care that I can buy carries.

No I don't care that it's "supposed to be hard".

No I don't care that there is ways to mitigate it like the horned scarab to delete half the affixes, or in this league only a way to delete all the monsters and replace them with frogs.

I have placed due consideration into all of these factors.

T17 maps "price me out" of the game. I can't get the most out of scarabs without all 5 map slots, which makes them feel bad to use. I can't clear the T17 maps in order to make scarabs feel good to use. I'm not good enough. The skill ceiling, if we would like to pretend T17 maps take skill, is too high. I'm not having fun anymore.

If that's the future of the game, I'm out. End of story.

i would like to point out, all this outrage stems from aspirational content no longer feeling optional.

people are paying a lot of divines to unlock it. WHY? the rewards are too good to be just "optional".

you can argue as much as you want about how these things are optional. no they arent. every point matters.

being able to run 2 voids stones vs 4 is huge.

being able to run 3 scarabs vs 4 is huge

Funny thing is it isn't even a skill issue, it is just quite literally reserved for the top 0.0001% of builds to play these maps. I don't think that is fair of GGG and they need to seriously reconsider.

it's not a skill issue. It's a gear issue. It's an issue that can only be resolved by those who know how to make incredible amounts of currency very quickly.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Mapping on T17 is doable after a few rerolls, but new bosses are ridiculous. I can see why this is called "bridging content", lol: because just like uber pinnacles, those bosses have no choreography, and no telegraphing, just wild spam of instagib attacks in tiny space, with extra aoe or projectiles from map mods too. No thank you, Mr.Roberts can have this content all to himself:)

Maybe latest temp league-only content had great boss battles I am unfamiliar with, but imo Eater, Exarch (without rolling meteors), Maven and Sirus were the last bosses with actual choreography. Which you could defeat with personal skill, not only by having enough dps to kill it before running out of portals. Ever since first uber pinnacles appeared, boss design went downhill.
It's even worse if you consider that behind those T17 maps are also the UBER bosses each having their own unique drop pool now. Some unique items are just inaccessible because of that outside trade leagues.
Even in trade leagues, some are quite expensive and many (casual) players can't get them for their build(s). Thus limiting their access to wide diversity of possible builds to play and much needed powerful items, to be able to beat such content... or even the "normal" versions.

Not everything have to be obtainable/killable by everyone including random person first time using PC in first week of the league by playing 5min per day. It is a weird modern thing, complaining to a game studio if you can’t beat everything instantly while refusing to learn how to play it. 5th slot on map device is optional, having 4 stones in atlas is optional - this is a video game, everything here optional, nothing here is mandatory. If you’re a bad player you either realise that, and you accept your limitations, or learn and improve. Or refuse and demand for the whole game to be adjusted to your level. It speaks for itself.

Squeezing through tiny gaps between Exarch rolling meteors, Lucia's whatever-it-is red round expanding circles, Uber shaper's bullet hell all with a tiny time frame is not quite what I mean by choreography. Such movement precision is hard to achieve on mouse.

Example of how it should work is sirus meteor mase: you are allowed to collide with maze walls without taking damage and fix your movement direction. How it should not work: you are oneshot from slightly touching edge of a hazard with total dozens of moving objects on screen at once.

As for T17, map mods can render shavronne's nova hitting half of the screen. And next map you get other mods like +4 projectiles, so there is really no pattern to learn with 3 bosses attacking you at once.
You just described what choreography they have. Difference between uber and t17 compared to their normal versions is minimal. But maybe we indeed play different games. And bringing extra proj as example on rollable map? Anyone force you to run it if you can’t handle this mod? reroll it.
