[3.24] CheapBunny's Igniting Fire Dot Flame Golem of Meteor Elementalist | Replica Primodial Might



Introduction
Flame Golem of Meteor is buffed in 3.24, gaining 30~40% more damage, it becomes a rather solid skill after the buff, able to clear endgame content without too much issue, despite the clunkier playstyle, that's probably the reason why no other people using this skill on poe ninja.

Unlike the normal Flame Golem, Flame Golem of Meteor has a faster cooldown, when summoned, Flame Golem will fall from the sky (Meteor) to deal fire damage and creates Burning Ground on impact. The Meteor only occur once when summoning Flame Golem, Flame Golem will do the normal Flame Golem stuff after the falling attack (or spell?).

This build is scaling around the damage of the Meteor part (ignite from falling hit and burning ground), which requires constantly resummoning Flame Golem (to trigger to Meteor), so the playstyle does not feel like a minion build. It is more like a spell caster with cooldown, that's scaled with minion stats.

According to POEDB, the falling hit is an attack, but somehow Flame Golem cannot be supported by attack support (missing attack tag), so I am not too sure whether the hit is a spell or an attack, in the end I just scale it with general fire/minion damage. Anyway, it has been fun making this skill gem work, enjoy the build.

Replica Primodial Might and Elementalist

The Meteor has great synergy with Replica Primordial Might jewel. Since we have to constantly summon the Flame Golem to trigger the Meteor, the summoned in last 8 second damage bonus will always be applied. 125% increase in damage is huge for a jewel, so the next step would be to stack this jewel as much as we can.

However, Replica Primordial Might jewel comes with a down side, -1 maximum golem. For every single Replica Primordial Might jewel we use, we need to have +1 maximum golem. Because of this, Elementalist become the obvious ascendancy choice. Together with the +1 max golem from passive tree notable (Golem Commander), we can use 3 of these juicy jewels.


Why Dot instead of hit based? Why ignite as well?

Cooldown on the skill makes it cannot scale too much with cast speed, hence DoT based is a better choice. Ignite can be scaled very similarly to the burning ground, ignite adds about 50% more damage on top of the burning ground according to POB.


Why dont use Anima Stone for another +1 golem?

Two jewel socket for 125% damage is not as attractive anymore due to diminishing return, especially when we have a great contender for jewel slot for Minion Dot build, Amanamu's Gaze.

Golem Chance to Ignite

Flame Golem does not ignite inherently, hence we need to stack chance to ignite for golem.

1. Abyssal Jewels

Chance to ignite = (14% + 14%) * 1.93 (Belt bonus)= 54%

2. Combustion Support

Chance to ignite = 25%

Chance to ignite = 25%



Massive Fire Resistance Reduction

This build ultilize the infamous Mastermind of Discord + Elemental Equilibrium + Eye of Malice + Storm Brand combo to lower enemy fire resistance.

Fire Resistance Reduction illustration on enemy with 50% Fire resistance.
1) Storm Brand trigger EE -> 50% - 25% = 25%

2) EE trigger Mastermind of Discord Bonus -> 25% - 25% = 0%

3) Flammability + Elemental Weakness Curse -> 0% - 37% - 30% = -67%

4) Scorch Ground -> -67% - 10% = -77%

5) Eye of Malice Amplification -> -77% * 1.5 = -115%

The combo can lower enemy with 50% fire resistance to -115%, super huge. What makes it better is everything is automated except Elemental Weakness curse.

Flame Golem of Meteor has cooldown time of 2.0 secs, it does not feel very smooth early/mid game, but after you get 20% quality (40% increase CDR) on the gem, it actually feels quite smooth. During early/mid game, use Infernal Legion support to help with clear, so that you dont need to summon Flame Golem as often.

It also has cast time of 1.0 sec, which is quite slow, some cast speed is needed to make it feel better in end game mapping. The source of cast speed I used in this build is Abyss Jewel and Weapons.

I have cleared all T17 with it, haven't tried ubers yet, but pretty confident can do at least some of the ubers.

Why is Eye of Malice better than The Formless Inferno Helmet?
Is it because of the automation with the storm brand?
Thought about scaling fire overcapped res for more minion max hp.

5l with Level 30 Infernal Legion gives less damage compared to 6L Flame Golem alone in the end game, and Eye of Malice can further amplify 6l Flame Golem's dps. Infernal Legion deal flat damage over time and does not scale off minion max hp.
