Veiled orb drop rate

I have no idea if I am just the most unlucky player in the world or if there is a minimum area level for these to drop from Catarina but I am 0 in way too many fights to remember them all. There is nothing about this in the Wiki (but at hte same time, this is a recent change so it might not be updated).

I specced into Betrayal just after taking the middle Kirac wheel and quickly took all the nodes. And I just completed all of the T1 to T16 maps (including a few uniques but not all of them yet).

As you can guess, at the end, Jun was on all my maps and with the +10 intel on a random safehouse above that, I sure did cleared a few of them. And as I had the chance to fight Catarina, I've done it as well.

In all of these, only the last one was in an area level 83. The others were on the highest level I was at that time.

I understand it is not a 100% drop rate and I accept that. But 0% out of I would say at least 10 run, if not more, is a bit harsh for someone 100% set on Betrayal on his atlas tree.

Good thing we now have 3 tress so I will not have to delete this one to do something else a bit more 'profitable'. Let's say it is a bit sad to have got none after all this time. I am not searching for a Mageblood after all :)

The nerf to Betrayal is twofold because not only is there far less consistent value in veiled chaos orbs (which I can live with), there's no longer any consistent value in scarabs, either.

You can't stack Intervention to get winged (or equivalently rare) scarabs anymore. This league feels like Betrayal is really only good for XP and extremely hit or miss on the rewards. There's still good stuff in there- but it's completely different from the consistent profit it used to provide and therefore way worse in my opinion as a master.

Alva, Einhar and Niko produce fairly consistent useful items. The most expensive stuff is of course rare, but it's not THAT difficult to get something useful. Jun I wouldn't run at all this league if I didn't already know the mechanic and enjoy the XP. It feels insulting to open an intervention chest after Mastermind just to get 5 scarabs worth 1c or less each.

The time investment does not at all match up with rewards for Betrayal. It's really only good for XP, and there's better XP farms out there. What niche is Betrayal supposed to have?

Make sure you get as many of the syndicate members to lvl 3 as possible to maximize your chances of a veiled orb drop.
