Big lag spikes
I havent played poe since 3 years.
But I remember I had almost no issues back then... I still have the same computer. And sure its not a 2000 euro + computer. But it feels I should not have the lag issues I am having right now.... Especially when alot of monsters come in the screen the lag starts. I only have a 60 mhz screen. But i can just see if I have the ingame latency graphs up, theres just spikes on latency and other stuff when it happens.... In comparision and yes I know its a curse word, but in games like d4 i have no issues what so ever, and it feels like such games would require a better computer than poe. Especially since i put every graph setting on lowest possible setting.... Any1 that can help? Or if i need to put more info about my computer then lemme know what u need (and im a noob in computers so lemme know where to find that info) Last bumped on Apr 5, 2024, 10:24:33 AM

Well, I have an absolute banger of a pc, and starting tonight the game is unplayable for me due to lag or stutter. Not sure what is going on. Worked just fine last night.

It's not your computer, I've also got a pretty strong rig and this latency spike is making the game unplayable

I have a kinda small harddrive (250 GB). And I deleted all other games last night...
And the game runs WAY better now. basicly only thing that a map sometimes makes unplayable is the new things of the league, those allflame things. Some of those mobs just make the entire map be laggy. Even did a blight map, even though its not great, and i dont think i can do red maps on hc, it was "okayish". So maybe people can try this if they have a full harddrive to make more space.. |

99%, its not your PCs fault.
But 99%, its a routing problem. Follow this guide: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1377789 If the first few IPs have non and last few IPs have package loss, its a good indicator for a routing problem. Problem is that the ISP and the GGG-Server-Host have no good transit conditions. Most of time big guys (maybe your ISP) wants to get paid by small ones (GGG-host). I guess the big ones are paid for the first 3-4 days only. To solve this problem you can pay instead of GGG by booking a VPN provider, that gives you better routing. (I would try b4 buy!) Sometimes, if you are lucky, it may help to change your DNS server. This may open you another route with better transit points. (A "How to" is too long, please google for it). |
