Worst league mechanic ever. Make it optional
I've been playing POE for years, and I can honestly say that this is by far the worst league mechanic I've ever played. I mean, I hated Sanctum, but at least I could skip it, and I fully understood the appeal to a certain section of the playerbase. But Necropolis is just awful in every possible way.
- The mechanic is forced, which makes me hate it right from the start. What makes this even worse is that GGG purposefully withheld this fact before the league launched. - The increase in difficulty (which, again, is forced) is way too high and the rewards are practically non-existent - The crafting is just terrible. Even if you got the exact corpse modifiers you wanted, the chance of you getting anything good is really really low. Even crafting with Rog has a much higher chance of giving you a good item. It's really not that difficult to fix it. I can even get on board with the difficulty, but it needs to be much more rewarding. And you need to be able to skip the league mechanic. You do this and the league is fine; the people who can handle the difficulty can get good rewards, and the people who can't handle it can opt out. Why are you being so stubborn GGG? Pretty much every other league mechanic has been optional; just make this one optional too! Last bumped on Apr 1, 2024, 11:35:34 PM

Easy fix: Click on the bubble: Area WITH mechanics. Click on normal portal: Area WITHOUT mechanics. |

I think the biggest issue with the crafting part is that for most builds items without suppression are completely useless. Suppression being a non tag mod makes it tough.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind it so much if I could opt out until I had a chance to at least gear my character. But no, random rippy mobs AND you took away most of the good low level currency farming options. What you left behind is nerfed, so you need scarabs to make them good again.

" I am straight up quitting and returning to LE until they implement exactly this, and I suspect MANY others will be doing the same or similarly just dropping the league altogether. I'll be back next league IF it's not one anything remotely like this. If they implement this singular change and I will return and play and likely spend hundreds of hours (and probably dollars) on the game. |

" Yep, pretty wild that grinding for an LP4 relic in LE by killing the same boss for the 5,000 time is more fun than playing what is generally my favorite game (POE). More deaths in the POE campaign than I typically get in an entire league. Early maps have been even worse. Not even remotely interested in grinding through this. |

Aren't you guys forgetting that fun is subjective? Maps are very rewarding (obviously not as much as the previous league but they are still fine) while being sufficiently challenging. This is fun, at least in my book.

Not only should they make it optional they need to remove the atlas tree nodes for the league. No player is in the position to make a good decision on what nodes to pick with a fresh league. Atlas passive tree should be reserved for core mechanics where the players opt in or out of mechanics they already understand/like/dislike. I don't understand the design descision of adding the fresh league to it. It makes 0 sense.
