Atlas Skill Tree, MF no longer needed?
I'm a standard enjoyer.
Tried a new Atlas Skills tree picking all the scarab nodes & map modifiers as well as Back To Basics. Ran a few maps, quant on map usually 90-110 before entering. My best was a corrupted 127 quant map went which boosted to 340 and just wow. Deadly but plenty of drops, almost 1/2 - 3/4 inventory per map. (btw, how exactly does a map modifier of 120% less effect of curses work? Does it give bonus resist to the monsters?) MF no longer needed to enjoy the feeling? :) Edit: just a normal build, no bonus quantity. Last edited by ShortSnex#0972 on Mar 30, 2024, 4:32:54 PM Last bumped on Apr 1, 2024, 4:01:28 PM

Don't understand the question, or the assertion:
mf was NEVER "needed". It is an added bonus on top of anything the game throws at you. It ALWAYS has value in its current form, insofar as mf is already something valuable to you as a player. Last edited by jsuslak313#7615 on Mar 30, 2024, 10:52:39 PM

I understand what you're saying.
What I mean is that for a casual player like me, who wanted to know what MF play was like, I can now experience it without having to try to put together a MF character (I could never get one to quite work, compared to YT videos I saw of MF). In any case, I did those tests on T16 maps (thus, my deadly statement in the original post). It should go even better on lower tier maps. |

Feels like affliction was test whether people will like mechanic "more loot but way more rippy monsters".

" To be fair....this sorta doesn't make sense....because NOW if you run mf in that exact same map, it multiplies your loot from THAT new baseline. So you really aren't getting the "mf feeling" that you are talking about. You are just running a map with minimal juice. VERY rough example of what I'm saying: mf build pre-3.24: drop 20c in a map, base was 10c current non-mf "back to basics": drop 20c base current mf "back to basics": drop 40c **Separate note: you said you took all the scarab nodes. "Back to Basics" turns off scarabs (extra content ones), so are you sure those nodes are doing anything? Or are you talking about that thing that changes scarabs to increase pack size only? Ah but with the modifiers getting pumped so high, it's really deadly, even in lower tier maps (by lower tier, I mean around 10-11). As I have no experience with a MF character, can they finish the map? I'm usually an alc and go type of player but I've had to look at the mods since some will instantly kill me.
Regarding your other question, I took all the non big scarab nodes. So scarab drop rate is around +104%. I don't think those nodes are counted as extra content. Most of my drops are scarabs. |
