If this league gets datamined on day 1 and thus partially figured out already, it will be worse.

Synthesis/Crucible/etc was datamined early and thus 0 real community effort was needed to figure stuff out. These leagues get so much less interesting when all the combinations are known immediately.

I wish GGG would work towards making it less accessible, so the sense of discovery (in this particular regard) could last more than a few days.

Probably not something one can change with a moments notice, but know that a subset of players prefer it being a gradual discovery phase of mods, with secret knowledge based on exclusively ingame experimentation.

The equivalent of not reading a guide to play a build, but rather attempt one thing at a time and learn some lesson for the future.

The easiest solution is to ignore it. You want a sense of wonder, and achievement from figuring things out on your own then nothing is stopping you from pursuing that path.
It's not an "if"....its a definite. GGG can't really do anything to make it "less accessible". Just as people dedicate themselves to crafting mirror-tier items, or clearing uber bosses, so too do people dedicate themselves to datamining and spreadsheets and calculating odds.

As others said, ignore it.

I disagree. I'm quite okay with spoilers, being told what happens means nothing without the context surrounding the spoiler, the emotion behind it and leading up to it. This extends to datamining. Being told specific information not yet supposed to be revealed does nothing for me as I have yet to experience it for myself. All this does is let me anticipate the moment, but it doesn't take away the feeling for me if that makes sense.

As far as PoE is concerned, I'm not very intuitive with game mechanics here. I hate how obfuscated everything is, that I have to pore through multiple wiki pages to understand mathematical formulas which explain why everything functions the way it does. As a result, my knowledge about the game's guts are terrible which probably explains why I don't make tons of currency.

What am I getting at?

I like when datamining happens for this game. It gives me time to examine what mechanics are being introduced and how difficult it's going to be, anticipating it for when launch happens.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley
well.. without spoiling everything you can pretty much bet that the crafting odds and results will mirror these of synthesis

- ocean of crap till T14+
- really strong 'mid tier' crafting pretty much available for free (aka league's borrowed power)
- absurdly rare teaser-like crafts that you might not see in 3 months

as for the league mechanics expect overtuned mobs and undertuned rewards. it is no longer a guess or surprise, it is their concious design decision. it is easier to adjust rewards up and difficulty down

and there will be some obvious UI/UX chore that everyone is going to complain that will be fixed week 2.

datamining/crowdsourcing is going to produce detailed %s but is it really that difficult to know you will get 'stun recovery' most of the time?
Lmfao sidtherat has datamined the truth already I think what a great summary, gonna be real surprised if that isn't how it turns out.

it will turn out this way for the poopsock league, because people wanted it this way.
the real poe is ruthless poe where challenges and rewards arent moved to late endgame.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
