Attack speed and Rage

I just want someone to confirm or deny this, im sure last night I heard one of the devs say that rage would no longer generate attack speed but instead it would generate cast speed, if this is true wouldn't this basically kill the berserker character and any melee class that uses rage especially the new gem cleave of rage, it would also meen that cleave of rage has been nerfed twice in range and speed.

Yes, that would kill the melee skill for melee classes. That's why they aren't doing anything like that.

What you've heard was probably the showcase of one of the new unique items from pinnacle bosses.

Just out of curiosity what elemental skills would use rage.

This is spell vs attack. Both have elemental variants depending on what the main skill gem is. It looks like it is just another option to make non standard builds. I suspect like most this stuff it is pretty worthless and if not they will nerf it to death next league.
