Ice Nova of Frostbolts and repeat mana cost

When casting Ice Nova of Frostbolts supported by Spell Echo from Frostbolts the mana cost is spent twice: one for the cast and one for the repeat. I think it is not the expected behavior.

whoa dude that's weird. If that's the intention....that SUCKS. It's not exactly a "trigger" so it shouldn't be treated similarly to a triggered skill.
What I see in the video: 1) When you cast stationary, it is the exact same spell with the exact same cast time, repeat, etc. Mana almost never dips below 1000 2) When you cast on an Ice Bolt (the literal POINT of using this transfigured gem), it taxes you for every single additional cast in a completely different way. None of that is described in the gem itself, and frankly doesn't even make sense considering Cospri's exists in the game to create the exact same effect. Definitely think this is a bug |

This does not actually happen.
Ice Nova of Frostbolts has a special behaviour explicitly described on the gem, where if cast on a frostbolt, the spell will not repeat, but the nova will occur again from the same frostbolt. When not cast on Frostbolt, it repeats normally. Repeating means a single use of the skill plays the cast animation again, causing all effects of the skill to happen again. Ice Nova cast on frost bolt does not do that, instead you play the animation once and then after the nova happens, it just happens again without your character repeating anything. What's actually happening in the linked video is you're spending mana more frequently when casting on the frostbolt because you are no longer repeating - rather than paying the cost and playing the animation twice, you're paying the cost and playing the animation once, but each animation is still giving you the second nova after the first from that cast. So you are spending more frequently, but also causing novas more frequently. | |

Thanks for the explanation, so if both spell echo support and 4 frostbolts are present, one cast results in 8 novas with paying the skill cost only once, correct?
