Can you 8+ Link a specific skill gem across multiple pieces of gear?

TL;DR: Can you use 2+ pieces of gear, and 2+ of the same skill gem, to bypass a 6-Link and make the skill an 8+ link?
In example let's say I have two Boneshatter gems. One is 6-Linked in my weapon with 5 support gems. Another is 4-Linked in my gloves with 3 different support gems which aren't in my weapon. Is Boneshatter then supported by 5 Support Gems, or by 8 support gems? Last bumped on Mar 8, 2024, 12:44:01 PM

There is only 1 way to get more than 6 links.
Elder affixes like socketed gems are supported by xy. You can increase that by using The Squire elegant round shield. Im bad at math. Last edited by LoTharios#3338 on Mar 8, 2024, 11:25:27 AM
