Please trial gold in the next PoE 1 league before PoE 2
" Trade does suck, but only due to the players themselves. It's like saying a neighborhood is horrible, yet the houses could be nice & new. As a daily trader, I can tell you off the bat; that if we had different system that forces you to trade the item if it's listed then it'd make a difference. I'm not against the idea of gold BUT there's no point if the system behind it is flawed. For trade to be smoother, would require a few changes in addition to a forced buy out system. There has to be stability instead of this current wild west system that players have caused to fail. Fixed rates, flat out. 1) Vendors would have to be able to sell ALL basic orbs instead of half like now. I asked Chris about that years ago one of the 2 times he popped up in global 1; he said they would but confused Gems for Orbs. 2) Gold would have to provide a more vital function than orbs. While orbs can continue having the sink it has such as map device or crafting bench; gold would have to be able to buy out either all orbs themselves OR the orbs that are of the highest values like Divines or maybe even mirrors. Orbs themselves would be the sink for gold. 3) New means of storage & item pick up. If a NPC or vendor system allowed to pick up and store your gold & orbs; as you map or quest, this would go a long way. One of the issues plaguing PoE is the amount of different currencies that have to be picked up. This has gotten worse over the years with the introduction of new orbs, splinters, shards and even cards. Game has become so convoluted that it takes away play time having to break the momentum of gameplay. *Funny thing is, PoE seems close in having this solution done but hasn't implemented it yet: It's in the form of some MTX ring skin that keeps track of how much currency you find dropped. I've been seeing it in recent months and while it has no real tangible function; it could if it picked up all currency that's allocated to your individual char in a area, that way you dont have to stop or nit pick at each one. Of course it'd have to be a separate but unlimited storage of it's own to not interfere with items that may drop.* I rarely post, but when I do it's important.
