<Default> .filter file does not show up in the filter file folder

Instead, the solution seems to be to follow an arcane extracting process (using 3rd party tools) to extract it from the game's files.

(I know that the community seems to do a great job at extracting it and building tools around it, but you would think that GGG would actually help to make the process easier !
This is probably one of these examples why PoE is infamous for not being approachable for new players.
Not to mention that most of the links to 3rd party filters I've found while researching this issue are now dead.)

(I also know that the create new filter page exists, but this too, takes some extra discovery outside of the game, and perhaps more importantly, it doesn't have the default filter as a starting example to learn about the syntax ! (Even if there's an official syntax page too.)
And there's the same "spoiling" issue for copying filters by other players.)

An additional issue is that Ruthless doesn't have a default filter, even though the current non-Ruthless one seems to just work after copying and renaming it.

my complaints about my post being removed because bumping an old thread... were themselves removed, the reason being "unable to discuss account related information" (because I also copied GGG's email there ??).
