Account Password Security
" -1 In the 15 or so avg years i have been hardcore gaming online , i have NEVER seen a game require these, outside of Blizzards sham operation. In most cases i have ever seen with my own eyes, it was a simple case of bad user management that got them screwed. Just my thoughts. GGG - Why you no?

" I agree. Just stick to some generic rules (common sense stuff) and you should be ok without needing an authenticator. I always catch my friends or co-workers offguard when they say "I've been hacked and NO I didn't do anything wrong". Mostly, it's them using the same password on an external, diablo-related forum, which gets hacked or compromised somewhere along the way. |

I have used Authenticator on a Blizzard game and it kept giving the same error and Blizzard is still trying to fix it months after the first few people with this error and days after i got the error, so if this Authenticator system is implemented it should be completely tested beforehand errors shows up.
All in all i vote no -1 Owned/Surpassed the strongest BvB in D2-Clsc-SC(Not mentioning his name for respect purpose honestly),with all Respect,Rest in Peace.
Barbarian: -*AzChaosTouch*- Diablo PlayTime:1to3 '96'til now If i had 3 wishes? 1.Make 2.A 3.Necromancer in PoE!! Key To Gain Mental Power is To Respect The Poor. |

Just upgraded from Kiwi to bronze pack earlier today. That got me thinking about account security. Never been hacked in any online game yet but have had lots of friends that have. While I think an authenticator would be a nice addition to PoE it probably is a bad idea since it would cost alot of money for GGG. So I would vote no for authenticators. Anyways had a question also, this thread seems good to ask rather then create a new one.
What I am wondering is when you start up PoE on the login screen it remembers my email and under password it says "stored". All I have to do is click login. In other games I never use a "remember me" feature and instead type the info in manually every time. Is it possible to do this when loging in to PoE also? Can't seems to find any way to turn of the game remembering my login info. Would just feel safer if it was not possible to login right away. Not sure if it really matters securitywise other then if someone physically would steal my computer. edit: after continuing searching I managed to find a pretty recent developer post about the issue. " So sounds good :) Last edited by Eivon#4461 on Jan 16, 2013, 7:49:23 PM

Password Security 101:
http://keepass.info/ My PoE PW is 20 chars and I can change it whenever I want in a few clicks. If you use this, remember to save your database whenever you update or change a password and back it up to your email or off your PC somewhere. Personally, I keep the database in my Hotmail and I keep a hard copy printout of my Hotmail password in case of a PC crash. A good idea for the database password is a short sentence you won't forget. I noticed there isn't an e-mail notification on password change, is there at least one for e-mail change? Something that would require additional authorization.

" I have to share this with my friend. When we get together to play dnd on the rare occasion, I like to reference d20.org, and he has to enter his network password for my netbook. It occupies an entire 3x5 note card, front and back, in his wife's tiny ass handwritin,) and takes him a few minutes to enter properly. I'm curious how many 10^billions of centuries that simulator would extrapolate XD Devolving Wilds Land “T, Sacrifice Devolving Wilds: Search your library for a basic land card and reveal it. If you have many accounts like myself, I suggest using keepass and dropbox combination so you can get to your keepass through your iphone and on your PC no matter where you are. If you are concerned with accessing keepass on your mobile phone;
a. its encrypted b. requires a password to access each time c. you can even set a password for dropbox d. always password protect your mobile phone Last edited by Pelomixa#0967 on Jan 22, 2013, 8:48:01 AM
