We are tackling Mystery of Droolmaw on Reddit if anybody want to pitch in and have any related theory or info. Also, if any devs will somehow see this, I'd love to hear the story behind that guy and how he came to being. He's way too weird and unique (even compared to other uniques).

The dude is an enigma and his wiki page is a stub. He lives in belly of the beast (act 9). He only spawns in a dead-end you can only find by mistake. He has unique name, pretty cool unique model and somewhat unique fighting style with several different abilities worthy of a boss. Yet he doesn't have much HP (and usually dies long before he has a chance to use any of his special abilities) or damage. He also doesn't drop anything special (afaik) and has no related quest or any place in lore.
What is he? A leftover form currently unavailable content? A part of story that was never added to the game? Some easter egg I can't figure out?
I do have a theory, though. He could be Malachai, that was somehow able to put himself together after that epic implosion in act 4. Considering that Doedre, Maligaro and Shavronne were able to return as Depraved Trinity boss, this resurrection of Malachai seems totally plausible to me. Also his appearance reminds me Malachai: he can't fly anymore, but he has remnants of wings. And the place he spawns in strongly suggests Malachai. So now, fucked up and weakened, he's roaming rotting bowels of his beloved beast.
Anyhow, what do you think about it? Do you have a better theory? Or maybe an actual info about Droolmaw (wiki says that he was added in 3.0.0, so maybe he used to have more meaning back then)?
