Mao Kun cannot be completed all monster dead

Have you talked to the NPC to spawn the undead side of Mao Kun? Then you have to run around and spawn the enemies by proximity to clear the chests. For the second side, mob counter only goes up when they spawned, but will show zero if not spawned.

Spawn chests until the last one where boss spawns and a ring of enemies indicating there are no more chests left.
