monsters in expedition become imortal sometimes, for no aparent reason

These shield boys cannot be damaged from the front while in shield stance. They remove their shield when they attack. You can get closer and provoke them to attack, or damage them from behind (for example, with totems).
Mobs with 2 daggers are something different, try recording them on video as well.
i was also hitting them from behind and still no damage
in the second recording one of them is fighting my golem (at around the 30 sec mark) and i hit him from behind, no damage
towards the end of the second video, there s a group of them focused on my ice golem, i attacked them from behind multiple times. a couple of seconds later they start taking damage

i will do more over the week end and hope to get the dagger boys as well
To add to that, ward (orange glowing health bar) also blocks damage taken similar to like Energy Shield with a recharge timer. That combined with less accuracy map modifier and 60 ele res will mean you miss a lot more hits and do significantly less damage, meaning more hits to break the ward before they start taking life damage.

I'm not at home to do a fresh build import, but if I configure Path of Building to give the monsters 60% ele res, 10% max res, and you the player 26% less accuracy, your net damage will drop probably at least 60%. Combo that with Ward buffer and the shield skill.. not a pleasant time.

Feel free to keep testing and making improvements, but Expedition is definitely one of those mechanics I do little of until I start approaching a complete build to compensate for the Expedition-specific mods and to be able to get into melee range to trigger the swing.
You guys are probably right, but I've had a couple suspect encounters with expedition. The one I posted about was running the standard fulcrum build where I was melting blight bosses right next to runic mobs and I *had* initially knocked a big chunk of their health off, the amount of on-screen stuff exploding was insane and they didn't heal or die. It's hard to tell with that particular game mode because of all the stacking mods, but normally, when I can't kill them, they stay at full health or recover to it. Otherwise, something like the kameahmeah ignite chain in a clustered area wipes them out when the build gets going.
