after death effects are fucking dumb

I cant kill the king in the mists because i die from some effect after defeating him EVERY SINGLE TIME. I can see the jewel drop from the death screen what makes it even worse. What fucking effect is it? Level 97 all max res, chaos res, etc.... instant death after defeating him.
