Can you remove all sockets from gear?

I want to have no sockets on my boots but not sure if it's possible to do. There's nothing in the crafting bench that allows it. Is it possible?

why do you want to do that? the only boots in the game that doesn't have any sockets is kaoms roots, but if its for the warden thing, empty sockets are fine

Oh, I read it incorrectly. I thought you had to have boots with no sockets for 30% speed boost.
