can we talk about the trade manifesto ?

old and outdated maniefsto

and any manifesto ggg releases is bound to be completely disconnected from the players' experience, because they don't play the game like we do, and they're still stuck with the diablo 2 experience they loved 20 years ago. this is why they made ruthless, and why poe 2 is merely a polished diablo 2. at this point they probably see an abomination when they look at path of exile 1, something that's out of control and turned into something entirely different from what they intended. when they realized that it's unredeemable, they decided to separate the games. it seems like they just don't know what they're doing

Removing trade entirely and balancing the game around ssf and small party play would remove 99% of rmt entirely. No more bots flooding the trade website to buy targeted items, no more bots to farm currency and it would also make an end to clowns being able to abuse a terrible system like mirroring items to generate a absurd amount of currency for rmt.

Sure, and it would also remove probably a majority of the playerbase that don't like SSF. They've move to a different game.
GGG wouldn't want that hit to their wallet.
Trade is fine, the problem is people that play mobile games that are click and
win. Or they're in love with games like fortnite where there is no progression.

Other than rmters ripping stuff to standard for real money, none of the issues people have exist in hc. The problem is a community problem thats self inflicted by people that care nothing more than their divines/hr and have a mini stroke if they have to slow their mapping down by .3 seconds.

You shouldn't be playing this game until the end of times hoping you'll drop a Mageblood and complete your build.

You should be playing this game by dropping a "Hyrri's Ire", or a "Shavronne's Wrappings" and designing your own build around that new cool item you just dropped, and how your current items fit better into that build.

The problem starts when you think that playing meta is the only way to play the game. And that's all cool if you like it. But you can't complain about trading experience because, this way, you're just closing a lot of the possibilites of the way the game can be played.

Think about that.

I like the idea of this, but I don't think it reflects the reality of how the game is balanced and designed. Take the last league TOTA for example. TOTA was fun and cool, but very build restrictive. I was leaguestarting with a righteous fire character. At a certain rating I stopped bothering with playing TOTA matches with that character because the mobs would turn off my health regen and steal my flask charges and I would die. I could not outplay it.

You might argue that I could just have kept playing that build and not interacted with the league mechanic, but then whats the point of playing in the league at all instead of just playing standard?

No, the way to correctly play this game is to come up with a good all rounder setup that can handle all the crap the game throws at you. Maybe later in the league you'll set up characters for bossing or sanctum runs or something specific. You're not picking up random uniques and going "haha, I could use this :)"

Say you do find some item that you think is cool or complete bonkers powerful and you wanna build your character around it. Now you have to make sure you have enough regrets to respec your passive tree. Then you gotta take stock of the rest of your gear. That means replacing a lot of it through crafting or trade. Get the gems. Figure out your resistances and defensive layers. Even if you're doing this completely homebrew without following a build guide, its a lot.

The likelihood of you just naturally dropping an item that's an upgrade for whatever you're currently using whether you bought or crafted it is quite low.
