Incubator Not Consumed on Use / Wildwood Rucksack Interaction

Playing on PC using a controller.

I moved a Fragmented Incubator from the Wildwood Rucksack to my dump tab, and noticed that it landed to the right rather than the normal next available space.

I moved the Fragmented Incubator back to my inventory because I meant to use it instead of stashing it.

When I applied the Incubator to my left ring it was not consumed. I thought it failed to apply, and used it again on my right ring. The Fragmented Incubator was not consumed.
