Singular Focus not working
Even though I have Singular Focus in the atlas tree I am still getting non-favored maps. I took a screenshot of a screen full of non-favored maps dropped by an Abyss monster.

Singular Focus does not affect certain Map Rewards such as archnemesis reward from rare mob.

What is an archnemesis reward? How does that apply to an Abyss monster? Why aren't the exclusions properly documented on the wiki or in game node text?

There was such a league - Archnemesis. In it, depending on some special mods, the monster’s drops were converted into other items (maps, currency, flasks, jewels, fractures, etc.) depending on the rarity of the original items. This conversion mechanic was introduced into core (also known as lootgoblins). Any rare monster has a chance of this conversion (it seems the more mods, the higher the chance).
PoE often involves learning on your own or through third-party resources. The PoE Wiki is edited by players. (By the way, there is a mention of this in the Singular Focus wiki - "This does not affect certain Map Rewards") Last edited by seaman#4993 on Jan 15, 2024, 2:51:08 PM

The player should be given all the applicable information about a game mechanic. The wiki only mentions Delirium. It should not be a guessing game about whether a mechanic or working properly or not.

The document that would contain all of the applicable information about game mechanics in PoE would probably take around 3 weeks to read through and have to be re-updated every league. When's the last time you read through every line of a ToS? That game document will be several times longer.
Singular Focus has worked that way since atlas passive tree was introduced. Random, non-league specific monsters exploding in X currency, maps, etc has been like that since Archnemesis went core. |
