I keep dying and I don't know why
This is my first time playing POE. I followed an srs build and I've tried to build all my defences but I keep getting one shot by dumb shit and I am stuck at 88. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this useless fuckong build

Drop one of the wands for a shield with defensive properties;
No life on one ring; You have zero defensive layers against physical damage (Low armour/Physical Damage Reduction) and no spell suppression for spells which are the big issues. Getting capped spell suppression will help a lot but can be hard, getting around 50% and taking the "Spell suppress chance is lucky" mastery node should be ok, or as you're necro you can try and cap spell block using Bone Offering and other means. I'm not sure why you have Plaguebringer instead of that already. For Physical damage, drop Discipline to run Determination. Discipline is giving you +673 effective HP (EHP) whereas Determination will give you +14,322 EHP. ~4345 22/11/2024

As noted above, Determination instead of Discipline should give you a bit more durability. Swapping one wand out for a shield may also help.
On a more 'big picture' thing, an important thing to keep in mind in path is even tanky builds want to get out of the way of many big hits. No matter what you need to always be considering how many enemies is too many enemies hitting you at once, which will depend heavily on your character's gear and build, your current ES / Health values, mob type (a few zombies are not a big threat, 4 bone stygians can be), and other factors (is it a normal map or a corrupted rare map with many difficult modifiers? Are you buffing things up from Wisps or diving deep into Delirum, etc). There's some learning, both just in the game, and for each character you run how spicy you want to get, and just what you need to consider dangerious enough to dart back and avoid hits. And of course it's not made any easier that the game can do a million things a second, and has the visual clarity of a fireworks show gone wrong in the middle of a thunderstorm. Having enemy HP bars turned on helps me at least keep track of most enemy locations in the chaos. Lastly, there's a reason why Hardcore characters are cautious and are risk adverse, dying in Path is very easy to do for a lot of reasons, so don't let deaths be too discouraging. As far as trying to push 100 goes, take big risks while your EXP bar is low or empty, and try to get more conservitive as you pass the half point. Lastly, keep in mind, you don't need level 100. Basically all the content can be done at 85 and above. |
