Magic Find needs a rework
I get why you went the route in Sentinel to nerf base currency drops and alters later to try to reign in magic find. It was less work and didn't require retconning items that exist in standard. That said, I think this league clearly shows the divide between MF-based builds and non-MF builds. Where an MF character can sit in T7 maps and do the league mechanic with multiple 10 stacks of divines and T0 unique dropping. While non-MF builds doing T16s pushing with alters and fully juiced are lucky to see 1 Divine in a map.
This is why most modern ARPGs don't use this stat as it makes it impossible to balance reward tables. I really hope you don't make the mistake of bringing the stat to PoE2 or at least putting in the legwork so that if you have to adjust tier numbers they can be auto-updated on existing items. Never once have I felt MF was needed for mapping even though it was superior. Now I feel it is mandatory and takes away from what is great about POE... build diversity. Yep, MF began spinning out of control even since first loot pinata mobs appeared with AN going core, and become progressively worse since then. Party MF bonus also violates fair play, not everyone can afford 6 man team to blast 24/7

Agreed, MF is by default bad game design and I should have added this to my POE 2 design thread (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3465936)

" This is just an opinion. Some Forum discussion or some loudmouth streamer saying that mf is bad design, doesn't mean it actually is. People can have a lot of fun figuring out how to balance mf and the needed power and defenses to actually kill mobs in a certain area. Mimimi my character power goes down is all i am hearing for the most part... I don't participate in mf parties, but it is what it is and people should be rewarded for playing in groups otherwise nobody would do it, period. Other games demand that you tackle endgame bosses in groups, there is not even a choice. Be happy you are given the option that you can do everything alone in this game, but don't demand all possible advantages for you aswell while playing alone Last edited by Strickl3r#3809 on Dec 23, 2023, 5:01:09 AM

In poe people are already rewarded for playing in party, they can coordinate auras, curses, and other buffs to avoid overinvesting in reservation and curse limit on 1 character. Even more importantly, mobs have more targets to hit, which mitigates poe's greatest problem: combat resolution in under human reaction time with unhinged damage scaling + visual clusterfuck. In party squishy characters like Deadeyes don't have to run like headless chickens.
Afaik topic is not about having advantage in solo, but rater tuning down excessive advantage in party, because party is not the thing you choose. My friends have left after div/ex swap, do I have to play public games only from now on, just for MF? Choice of solo/vs party should be driven purely by personal preferences and social contacts, not by crazy loot we can see on certain streams. Tell me how to get that loot per map solo and I will agree that I am wrong now. Last edited by Echothesis#7320 on Dec 23, 2023, 5:28:06 AM

modern poe influencers are transforming modern poe gameplay into more mf farming strat instead of funplaying.
Poe ninja confirm that with deadeye popularity, and ggg decisions with nonbalancing meta. Nerf party mode, it gives more loot than it should. And nerf party auras. I propose to make it so that the aura either weakens at a distance or affects oneself by 100% and less on others, these multiplications of the party mode are too strong Last edited by Offfit#6199 on Dec 23, 2023, 5:43:52 AM

" While I personally don't enjoy MF as much as non-MF characters the loot is as insane as it is because of the league mechanic and not because of MF. Yes, MF adds a decent bit of loot on top of it but you can get very close to the same results on non-MF builds with the advantage of not dying and being generally faster. If you're actually struggling with divines it's because you're doing multiple things wrong/inefficient like running a bad mapping build and choosing mechanics that don't interact with the league mechanic that much. Removing MF gear from the game won't change that. |

" This is entirely false. MF builds are running T7 maps, with 2-3k wisps using the same strat everyone else is using. They are dropping multiple 10div stacks in one map, while dropping T0 uniques like MageBlood, Headhunter, and The Squire. While anyone not running MF might see a div if they are lucky on the same level of engagement at T16 maps. There is a vast disparity there and even all the streamers are speculating that their MF is being multiplicative with the Wisps instead of additive like all other sources in the game. |

" Yeah, entirely false, sure. 3 days of 8mod/multiproj T16 jungle valley with blue altars. Last edited by Scarletsword#4354 on Dec 23, 2023, 6:48:49 AM
