1) Animate Guardian of Smiting have to use other minions? 2) What POB ideas for Smite of judgement?

I want a hybrid melee strike build that also uses Guardian of Smiting.

I'll be running some auras for defenses and some minion life items since I won't be grabbing much minion life from the tree. Reddit says the survivability is possible, without having to be a minion build.

My question 1) do I have to grab other minions types for dps? Is it not worth it as a minion hybrid melee build to only run 1 minion type?

I'm not sure if Chains of Command works with Smiting Guardian. I'd assume so. Not sure if that item is worth using however, tho it'd warrant a animated only build I suppose.

I don't really want to run other minions other than maybe herald of purity. Tho nothing else. Maybe specters tho not even that really.

Also is the dmg low for guardian of smiting? nobodies spoken of the gem.

Yea I want to use smite of divine judgement too, also run the guardian who has smite.

2) What other build ideas go well with smite of divine judgement? The strike skill. Even if I don't build for minions too. I just want to have other ideas to POB theory build divine judgement smite with. So far it has nothing unique to scale for? Other than giving smite a extra ancestral call from chieftain ascend.

I wanted a 2 active skill build. Was gonna use Sunder of Earthbreaking with some other melee skill. Yet the only POB idea was to scale both with AOE dmg which was too simple and plain.

The new smite is just a " clear skill " so far. Even the new frost blades has more to scale with, yet don't want to play that yet. Wanted to play the new glacier hammer of shattering yet that skill is pigeonhold to everyone using the same staff, seemed not unique enough for me to build.
