Lost Spectres Not on the Ground

I'm a level 91 SRS Guardian with 4 spectres via Death Attunement (on my amulet). I attempted to change some of my Wildwood spectres using the same method that worked for me a few days ago. I went to the Coast in A1 and removed the Raise Spectre gem from my gloves and placed it back into the same socket. However, my spectres did not appear on the ground. I didn't have Flesh Offering equipped and casting Desecrate didn't produce the spectre's corpses (that probably wouldn't have helped anyways since they're Wildwood).

A few hours later, after replacing all 4 Wildwood spectres, I visited another player's hideout and noticed all my spectres and animated guardian had disappeared. I was able to recast my animated guardian, but my 4 spectres were nowhere to be found. I didn't adjust/upgrade/unequip any of my gear today, so I'm unsure of what caused this. My Raise Spectre is level 26 (+5 levels from global modifiers) on both weapon swaps.
