Maven Invitation drop chance nerf/bug?

Running for a week boss map farm strat and neither the guardian maps actually drop as much as they did last league, but there are no invitations...

I started without grand design to get also conqueror maps naturally or inc the chances of getting them, but after a while I realized I rarely drop any invitation equally if I run Guardians/Conquerors, so I specced into the "Grand Design" keystone on the atlas and completed a whole cycle of exarch from 0 to 28 maps with in total ONE invitation drop which was a T14+ standard atlas invitation. That was a total of 96% increased chance to drop an invitation T14+.


Am I just immensely unlucky or is this some bug GGG is aware of?

Did they nerf it cause of the forest in fear to be able to drop 3 - 4 invitations at once?

You're just doing regular maps? Invitations are very rare if you're not doing specific bosses/maps. You have a 25% ISH chance to get a formed invite if you're doing a shaper guardian from my experience, but getting one from a normal map boss is magnitudes rarer.

I did both and since we (me and my guild) could easily sustain such Guardian/Conqueror maps and their invitations last league with this strat, I gave it a go. But it seems to be immensely smaller chance now to actually drop these invitations.

Last league I got mostly like 2 in one rota of Guardian/Conqueror. :/

Could it be how your atlas tree is setup compared to last league?

Sounds like rng to me. My invitation tab is almost full over the past month(in ruthless, not the current league).

Although I've run a lot more maps, closer to 400, 1/28 seems low, but it's a fairly small sample. Have you had maven witnessing on all those 28 maps when you ran them?

Conc/guardian maps also dropping regularly as of last few days, again I'm not in league so maybe something is different there from the standard game.

How am I supposed to have maven witness the fights if they are already witnessed?
I firstly did Maven to witness them.
After they were witnessed I did the exarch since I just didn't wanted to waste the opportunity to get other bosses if I am unable to witness those bosses, since they are already witnessed.

Yes, maps, conquerors/elder/shaper dropped plenty, but rarely any invitations.

So I continued the strat and I kinda "sustained" the invitations, but I normally run 4 shaper guardians, 4 elder guardians and 4 conquerors and if I still have no invitation drop of any of them, I start running the shaper, elder, conqueror maps I have, which are to much for 1 set and run it with exarch or eater influence till I drop a new invitation, which requires around 5-10 maps to drop the required invitation for said boss invitations, since I am also unable to witness them once again and "store" them.
Yet it is very rare for me to actually find a invitation in time of finishing the witnessing of all the guardians/conquerors. Normally I need to grind around 5 - 10 more maps per invitation to actually get one for the right guardians after witnessing them. Didn't matter if I used the wandering path for higher invitation drop chance or went for the normal strat with more boss map drops.

That's also a reason why I entirely stopped running it, after I farmed around 50 mavens, cause I had like 160 times redeemer fragments and around half of the other conquerors in the end... the same for other guardians. Just cause the invitations didn't drop in the actual rotation.

It is kinda sustainable, but it is different from last league for me and running 10x redeemer without even being able to witness her, without any kind of rewards was to frustrating for me.

Not even the Forest could provide rewarding drops for them. I didn't tried it to often tbh, cause these fights are mostly annoying and mean sitting there on one spot, lying a stone on my keyboard, to always attack and watch a movie till it's dead, with around 30 - 40 Mil dps.

1/28 may be low, but if I double the chance of dropping invitations and while running guardians/conquerors it is very crazy to only get 1 invitation and not even a guardian/conqueror one in 28 tries

It was focussed on dropping invitations, boss maps and maps in general, pretty much the same as in the league before. Why should it have any change in it? Did any nodes change since last league in terms of this strat?

But I guess, since this is not a bug it seems and just my f**ked up RNG, we can close this.

Once you run the crucible you will be able to start a new cycle of witnessing maps including ones you have completed in the last cycle. (I can see you likely know this from what you have been doing, but you specifically asked how it's possible, so just in case. It sounds like what your saying is using your strategy you can't run many witnessed encounters, because there is a level of rng requiring balance of maps within the efficiency of your strategy)

It sounds like you may not want to farm more 10 ways as you are focused on eater/exarch, but it may be why you are getting less drops of invitations.

I don't know if the invitation drop rate is different from plain, exarch/eater, witnessed maps, but I feel like I get most invitations dropping while maven is witnessing. Most of the maps I ran probably over 60% were farming 10 way crucible, so it may be contributing to our different results. The extra bosses may be a factor as well. Someone else may know the exact details about the drop rates.

In terms of the bulk of redeemer maps, 10x the other maps seems way out balance. Sounds like you have run more conqueror maps than me, though I've never been more than +10 out of balance, certainly not 10x. Yet another level of rng that is obviously contributing. Specifically regarding formed invitations, in my full tab, it's closer to just 10, so that's sounding a lot closer to what you might be getting. Again I don't know how the drop rates for this particular invitation differ across boss encounters. Some aspect of the game are a lot more time dependent without trade. Can understand this would be frustrating if it feels like you are doing the correct farming method and rng is blocking you from progression.

That's kinda right, cause if you can spawn more bosses with maven through "Destructive Play" which all have their own chance to drop maps or invitation it would be horrible if it felt worse as with eater/exarch, the bigger problem is rather having enough of the big invitation bosses to actually do all before you need to run normal maps and let them get witnesses. The reason why I went for eater/exarch instead of running normal maps, cause every 28th map or less a quaranteed boss map will spawn which I also can run.

yea it seems like I am once again super unlucky in some cases, I also doing atm the ultimatum challenge for the boss fight... I spent more than 100 scarabs in rusted, polished and gilded. In addition I switched now to sextants to actually spawn him and I am fully specced into the chance for him to appear as a boss. Nothing... Most likely a reason for me to not do all challenges this league, too.

I realize that this is actually the standard for me, it is really rare for me to being actually lucky in this game, which frustrates me for a while now. I am thinking of quitting the game, entirely... Seeing people drop Mirrors like peanuts and playing for more as 20k hours without one let's me finally think that this game is not good for me. ^^"
