Hiding item in ruthless with filter?
Is it possible to do?
Not understanding why this would be any different to how loot filters work in non-ruthless modes? Last bumped on Dec 13, 2023, 2:28:34 PM

" Yes, but ruthless still has a somewhat arbitrary rule that prevents the full hiding of items. The best you can do is a transparant background and small text (using a key press to show items is also an option to at least keep the screen clear during the action). Why this rule exists isn't very sensible, set up to prevent over eager players from hiding their own drops they might actually need, but even in ruthless, there's a still wealth of dead drops, due to the nature of how items work (doubly so if you don't care about selling or collecting off character gear). So being able to hide would be nice. Though I'd keep the coding element where Ruthless filters have their own lable so you can't mistakenly use your normal filter in ruthless and visa versa. |

Yes I'm using that filter.
Unless I'm mistaken it is unable to hide items or currency. Items that are crossed out in the filterblade simulation still show on ground in ruthless. I used the copy paste function, on the simulation page, to back test this. Certain items from in game that are showing, should not be, according to filterblade. If I hide certain items or currency in the filter, the text graphics will be removed but the item still shows on the ground with a small text label. As far as I can tell this is nothing to do with the filter but rather a limitation of ruthless mode. I used a standard mode filter from filterblade to check in standard mode, and it can hide items there. When holding alt, I can view all the items that are being hidden, which is not the case in ruthless. While holding alt in ruthless nothing changes, because I believe the filter isn't hiding any items. So I'm wondering if anyone is currently using a filter, filterblade or otherwise, in ruthless mode, that is able to hide items? Is this a limitation of ruthless mode or have I just got an incorrect setting somewhere? |

" Ok thanks, doesn't seem sensible to me either. I spent about an hour trying to fix the filter before realizing it was how the game is intending for it to work. I'm usually fairly conservative with my filters so I can imagine this is annoying for people who don't like seeing every untiered low level white item dropping. I can kind of see that reasoning, but don't think the implementation is great. Doesn't seem like a sufficiently good reason not to implement a quality function that already exists in the game. |
