preventing Spectres from being lost in Hideouts due to changing items around does NOT work correctly

The solution mentioned in the FAQ to prevent Spectres from being lost in Hideouts/Town due to changing items around does NOT work correctly.
It is really bugged in many different ways:


I unequipped the Raise Spectre gem to change gear. Off my 4 spectres(1 Perfect Blasphemer, 1 Perfect Meatsack, 1 Eldrich Eye, 1 Nameless Beast) only 3 dropped to the ground, none where the bought new spectres that I had summoned. 2 Where Nameless Beasts, 1 was a Nameless Puca which I had not even summoned before.

Entering the Menagerie or a Map also did not drop the spectres to the ground.

After raising the 3 spectres dropped to the ground I dropped a bought corpse from the inventory to the ground which summoned a different monster when raised.

Unequipping the Raise Spectre Gem again caused all spectres to disappear except for 1 Nameless Puca corpse.

Raising and unequipping that Nameless Puca then caused it to disappear.


Testing with random corpses from act 7 had all 4 drop to the ground but spawned an adittional Nameless Puca.

Raising those 4 act corpses again then made them behave correct again.

Using only Nameless Beasts also worked then.

Then I dropped a dancing sword from inventory and raised it, but it raised as a Nameless Beast instead. No other spectres where raised at that time and the dancing sword corpse disappeared.

Nameless Puca corpses are also sometimes invisible but always show their name when holding A.

I can confirm that this behaves VERY strangely. I had a perfect meatsack, a regular forest warrior (for Vitality aura, I couldn't afford the perfect variant) and a regular Blasphemer. They all disappeared and instead I had Druids of the Circle after changing hideouts and switching items around.

I honestly didn't notice until one moment while editing my new hideout, I suddenly realized that the forest warrior wasn't yelling anymore. I have no idea where the druids of the circle came from, other than the fact that they spawn in Expedition encounters.
