Trickster & Evasion Mastery Issue

The Trickster's Escape Artist ascendancy passive grants +1 max ES per 6 evasion on equipped body armour.

The evasion mastery that grants 100% increased evasion from equipped body armour should therefore logically grant that extra 100% evasion as energy shield but it does not.

Is this intentional? Is it accidental? This seems like the kind of synergy that should just work in PoE.
