Transfigred gems - would feel great if we can bind multiple variations to a single socket

Many of the gems have properties that make them ideal for bossing vs mapping.

For example:

Crackling Lance of Branching
Crackling Lance of Disintegration

Yes, it's easy to swap these gems out before boss fights. But with the rework to rare enemies and unique bosses from content, there are multiple 'boss fights' in every map. If we could combine two variations of a gem into a single gem and then access one or the other's ability by using a different keybind that will feel amazing and allow some sick combos similar to POE 2 crossbow.
