New Lacerate skill gem being locked to one handed weapons is just insulting

Basically just title. I don't even know why I bothered typing this. Its becoming exceedingly clear that melee bleed is going to remain dumpstered forever. It'd be better and less dishonest to just remove bleed as an archetype. Like why do we even bother

to be honest i didnt realize it was 1 hand only
after checking i realized that there are 2 variants. one 1hander, another 2 hander. i can understand that devs may make restrictions like this so that they have a better idea on how to balance. but that said, i feel it defeats the purpose of transfiguration. if i was using lacerate 2hander and my gem got transfigured to the 1 hand version. that is a QUIT MOMENT. my favourite skill that i ve been playing wrongly for 10 years is viper strike. i ve been playing it on a 2hander all these years. if the new transfigured gems for viper strike were all ONE HAND/DAGGER/FIST weapon ONLY, that is a QUIT MOMENT too. its bad enough that my alt gems got shafted in standard [Removed by Support]

" You do realize you get to reject the transfigured option if you don't want it right? When you choose to transfigure, you aren't forced to keep one of the new options. |

IF I WAS USING BLADE TRAP WITH ONE HANDED SWORDS, AND SAW THE NEW TRANSFIGURED GREATSWORD VERSION... THAT IS A QUIT MOMENT.

I didn't notice. I looked at the multipliers.
The biggest issue with that skill has always been it's multipliers to justify using Crimson Dance. Seems like both versions are at least better than the original. Keeping 8 stacks on a 2hander might be tricky though. That one might be better without Crimson. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" Happened to me with the Shroud of the Lightless when they made it only good for 2handers and squire users. Got a support pack and everything for it (considering its companion pieces were getting put into the kirac pass) thought it was a safe bet they wouldn't destroy the item for the weakest of its users and empower it for the already broken. I think it MIGHT work. Depending on charm. Use high pDPS axe and Jack in offhand, Sadism support, grab Rupture via charm and lean heavily into attack speed. You might end up with something like 1s bleeding, but enough attack speed to actually maintain full CD stack.

" You do realize that being able to back out of a shitty design that controverts the entire idea behind transfigured gems* doesn't make the design less shitty right? * the entire point of these gems is to have a more simple "base skill" and then have the variations "opt in". So for example a weapon restriction that doesn't exist on the base gem should never happen on the transfigured variations, because then you're literally FORCING players to Meta-game (make a leveling build until you get your gem). Now I realize that a heck ton of POE players ALWAYS meta game the leveling process but believe it or not a lot of us like to "level as the build we're going to play". Mathil is well known to do this... he tries to use his build from the earliest moments. Personally I'm the kind of player that literally MUST do it the way Mathil does or I quickly lose interest entirely. Basically if I "HAVE to use X and then at level 30 or 40 "switch over to Y" I'll always nope out. Point is GGG shouldn't bake "nope outs" into their skill gem system. Even if it effects only people like Mathil and myself who care about playing a build "thematically" (so to speak). Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4. If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. " And congratulations now you've made a hit build with extra steps. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.

What? If you think that variant is shitty... maybe don't make a build out of it? If you want to make a build out of it and level from the base gem, do it with 1H weapons from the get go? How hard is that?
