Transfigured Gems - which have most potential?

Sitting this league out. But if I was playing, was going to build around Blade Trap of Greatswords by ES stacking for Energy Blade.
most of the gems have been very disappointing so far, but I'm hopeful about poison CA ballistas

Arc of Surging
230% added damage effectiveness will make it insane for mana stacking builds. However, it loses a significant more multiplier. It also has a higher base damage. Any Arc build will likely want this for mapping and use a gem swap for bossing. Granted, Arc can chain off screen, and this effectively nullifies that advantage.

Arc of Oscillating
1 less chain than normal Arc and slightly less than half the base damage. At base it does slightly less damage, but this can be offset depending on how much added lightning damage and number of chains there are. Oscillating probably refers to how Arc prioritizes chains.

Consecrated path of Endurance has a 2 sec cooldown, so I think it's out of the picture. They want you to use slams as intended, which has never worked so far...

Cyclone of Tumult is an upgrade for CoC builds already using cyclone, so those will only get stronger.

I think Boneshatter of Complex Trauma is the big banger: Boneshatter is already a good skill and this version looks even better. Attack speed is less important now, as you only need to reach 10 stacks, which translates to 100% more damage on average.

However, I'm thinking myself to start with a hipster build: Absolution of Inspiring looks really cool. Having the focus on your own self-cast spell and the minions just as a means of support is such a fresh new take on this archetype.

Consecrated Path's cooldown can be bypassed using EC, so there's that.

BS of complex trauma could be good for ignite IMO. It ramps up quickly but also deals a lot of damage to player, and ignite will sustain the damage until next cycle completes.

Cold Snap looks really good as a self-cast starter. Getting 100% charge on critical is a matter of one support with decent damage factor if you stack up at least 8 PCs, with 10% base crit it's trivial to get to 100% critical, damage effectiveness and base damage are high, range is good, 0.6s cast time is very good for self-cast. A good cookie-cutter starter for Inquisitor, I think.

Absolution looks good due to minion damage scaling. Could be interesting on Guardian...

You can of course bypass this cooldown with Endurance Charges. So, if you have adequate charge generation, you can spam the skill to your heart's intent.

The dom blow one is irrelevant to every dom blow i've ever seen though, It could be 1000% and I still feel like it wouldn't actually do much (give me a nice pob guys if you've got a dom blow that actually slaps itself i'd love to see it).

You definitely wouldn't build it like a normal dom blow build. I'm not sure what else you need to hear other than a 240% damage attack with basically a +150% more damage multiplier on top of it to grasp the damage potential there. The fact you also have minions at this point is almost negligible. Typically a dom blow build is building around the minions being more effective and as such using a less effective weapon for raw player damage, but if you instead stick a high base DPS 2h weapon on there it's just about as effective as any other melee skill, now add a 150% more multiplier on top of it and it makes Heavy Strike look like a wet noodle, and competes with high stacks of trauma with Boneshatter without the self harm.

Arc of Oscilating has line 50% more damage per remaining chain. In a normal Arc we have 15%. Perhaps it means Arc of Oscilating has 15% base and 35% per 20 quality on a gem.

Assuming this and going with high/mid investment we can push Arc to lvl 31 120% quality (at cost of 2 links, one for enhance and one for empower). At this case we have 10 chains from arc itself (lvl 31) and 35% * (120/20) +15% = 225% more damage per remaining chain. With 10 remaining chains it is 2250% more damage to first target.

Also Arc of Oscilating can return to main target after one chain.

Don't know if it works like this, but I wanted to share this theory.

It's called arc of "oscillating". That's literally what oscillating means, bouncing between the same targets. Also they removed the line in the description which says arc normally doesn't bounce. It's 99.99% certain this is how it works.
So you can cast something like Hydrosphere and it will hit the boss numerous times while the Hydrosphere also deals damage.
I think it's meant to be the "single target" version of arc.
I really wanna play arc preferably templar cause I like him, however I suck at this game and hope somebody will make a build I can follow.
Don't know which is better hierophant or incquisitor?
