This will result in gem swapping for mapping/bossing
How is this different then swapping gem for GMP?

yep, same thought
these particular gems are so close to each other that you actually build for them almost the same, so there is no opportunity cost for doing that. one is strictly better for clear, the other for bossing (the third one is for aura bots) im pretty sure lots and lots of people are for rude awakening once they realise out of 200 gems there are 4 cool/different ones and 196 icicle mines they were smart to release falling zombie first to make people believe all unreleased ones are cool and powerful. when in reality significant part of these will be 'generated' during last 2 days so there is no way they will be anything more than number changes there and there as if anyone is excited for Dual Strike of Something and yet, people still think unreleased gems will change everything.. |

" i may be wrong but i think support gems will not be transfigurable, only skill gems, as ggg said in the patch note "Transfigured Gems are alternate versions of existing skill gems that have different functionality and balance than their regular versions. 200 new skill gem options with specific values we dont have any idea of the requirement to grind lab to get the gems you need instead of enchants your hard earned gems turned to trash versions you would never grind for the need to grind labs for gems you lose 800+ skill gem options we just got in late 2020 that we finally understand The ability to make gems alternate via lenses enchants that existed on helms, gloves, and boots for every skill every single 21/23 gem you spent time and effort to acquire in standard the need to grind labs for enchants all this change feels like is POE1 getting a pre-emptive look at gems in POE2, and I for one am not a fan of having to redo the hard work I spent grinding the alternate gems only to get literally 0 reimbursement for my time as a standard player I can only express my frustration with the FU attitude towards standard players so much but here I am again Last edited by Jhiroth#6006 on Dec 4, 2023, 2:53:01 PM

" " " I don't like where this is going. We lost a lot of customization to bland gems that will be just swapped by everyone. Builds need to have opportunity cost to feel different and right now that's all down the drain. One of the reasons why I think PoE2 gem system is big mistake. They took the wrong approach with this. Not to mention that it seems like they haven't even finished or tested gems and that's why the delay, because how hard can it be to make web page post.
