Ultimatum Juicing?

Hi All,

Hope everybody is as excited for Affliction as I am!

I wasn't playing PoE when Ultimatum released. Though, since I started it's kept coming up as a favorite mechanic of lots of people. I'm curious whether this is more because it was simply a stable, fun mechanic for releasing bubblegum currency that appealed to the masses, or was this something that could potentially be juiced for big rewards if invested into sufficiently? Just curious to hear what veterans thought of the league mechanic overall. I figured the Trialmaster drops were the most important component of Ultimatum, but am wondering if there's more. Thanks!

At the time there wasn't a atlas tree so you couldn't spec into it.

It did give alot of item, think I had like 30c when I got to map, while I started doing them at act 6.
Why am I still here
Even if it was rewarding at the time of the league, we have no idea how its been rebalanced. Could be the best strat, could be extremely lame.

I don't see a great normal way to juice it aside from just finishing all 10-13 rounds of ultimatums.

Will have to wait for new atlas passives to determine juice, and then people doing a fair number of them to understand rebalancing.
you have to test it yourself .

Back in the days, the monsters from ultimatum also dropped items and now they just give exp.

And they also said that they adjusted the rewards.

I dont think anyone can answer that right now
I was there. I remember like this:
- Dropped loots weren't notable compare to Ultimatum loot. Dropped loot was unnecessary anyways. No map drops, nerfed monster drop.
- Exp per hour was extremely bad.
- Huge amount of chaos and vaal orbs related to 3.14 area. This one kept me interested for SSF.
- Maybe the extremely low chance Trial master/Round 10. It was something like 1%.

Chaos and vaal orb are low tier currencies now. You should consider your time; 2-3 minutes in Ultimatum or 2-3 minutes for whole another map. Which one is more rewarding.
why would u tell someone to stop have fun and just think about chaos per minute ?

Playing this game is not your job, you should play for fun.

and i remember empyrian and his mates getting banned, because they got tons of drops from the monsters.

The whole premise of the thread is about juicing the mechanic....

they got banned because they used party exploit not because it got alot of drops
Generally i just like the theme of ultimatum. Also pretty straight forward.
Thanks for the replies, everybody. It's going to fun to give it a try, but I have doubts my ranger build will be able to go multiple rounds until high investment. It'll be fun to see how it reacts with the atlas nodes.
