Upgraded to PC results in terrible performance. Please help
I just upgraded to a new PC (not premade) with significantly more power and performance. However, upon reinstall my game performance is terrible/unplayable at times. Resolution dips in combat to what must be the lowest possible pixel count, and even when idle in hideout still looks very poor. My older PC didnt have these issues. Only Delirium would cause low performance, but now I cannot run anything.
Looking at graphics settings the only thing that improves the texture quality is disabling Dynamic Resolution. If I do this my game returns to good graphics in the hideout, but when in combat input lag and framerates drop to unplayable levels. My Texture Quality setting is stuck on Medium and I cannot increase it. Any suggestions on how to improve my quality? is your monitor plugged into your GPU display port/HDMI?
Or maybe in your motherboard (that means it's using integrated graphics of your CPU). Check in PoE settings what is your primary output GPU is |

At least you didn't tell him to turn it off and on. |

" You do know that a huge number of people have been having these issues since the 3.22 particle system update, right? This is not a problem with this person's PC. |

" not on ryzen 7900x and 7800xt What OP described is the exact behaviour you get by running the game on integrated GPU - low fps, pixelated graphics if you try to do anything other than standing still. I tried running PoE on my 7800x3D integrated GPU instead of rtx4090 out of curiousity and I know what I'm talking about. OP is not posting anything probably means he plugged his monitor into 7800xt :) it's just hard for most people to accept their incompetence. |

" Touche, it's certainly possible (I made that mistake once before, too XD). But, well, I just assumed that if OP built the PC, they wouldn't have made a mistake like that. There is also a known ongoing issue with the game's new particle system at the moment, so it could be that, too. Last edited by GregoryAdams#7051 on Nov 27, 2023, 11:58:05 PM

Thanks everyone,
Didnt update because shortly after posting the pc went down completely. Looks like it was mostly a windows thing, something didnt install correctly with the OS. Im still stuck at medium textures, but at least things are playable again |

" Soooo final update, yup I'm incompetent. First time PC builder and didn't realize it was running on the integrated GPU. MUCH BETTER NOW. Thanks for the help and tough love :D, really needed this running again properly before next league. |
