Blighted maps are not "my" maps?

I understand that entering instances that kirac creates are not "my" maps.
But is it also the case that blighted maps that I have in my inventory and run like any other map will not have modifiers from my atlas applied to it?
I ask because I have serious problems clearing blighted maps. In fact, I failed miserably on the only 2 I have tried so far. So I specced into the small notable "sturdy construction". But I cannot seem to see the mod active when I hit tab?

Blighted maps are your maps, but they are not in the Atlas, so Atlas passives do not affect them.
Ah, ok thanks, that's unfortunate. I guess I'll refund those passives then, normal blight encounters are no problem ...

How do you have no problem with blights in maps but you can't do blighted maps? Do you mean blight ravaged ones?

I'm not trying to be mean here but blight maps are basically free unless you get totally cucked on tower placement. If you are actually struggling with those just post again and i'll throw some tips out for how to snooze through them all.

Thanks!
Yes, I am having problems with ordinary blight maps.
Maybe I am rolling them too tough?
I have never read a guide, and I am one of those people who actually find this game hard, and I have no real clue as to which machine to build when, but all of that together doesn't seem to be a problem in blight encounters because it's so small and short.
But those blight maps are so big and long, I don't know where to run to first, and I'm always behind.
Also, as is probably obvious, I am a player of average skill only, and not a Power User. I also play SSF and thus I'm sure I'm underpowered. I find tier 13 maps (where I am now this league) to be verY challenging for me when rolled appropriately.

Ok so with blight maps there are a few things to remember before you start.

Map mods matter, but its kinda the opposite to the regular game - most damage mods are irrelevant because only bosses ever attack and you can keep far enough away to not have to deal with them. Meanwhile if you roll stun immune, extra life and extra resistances then you are massively cutting down your tower options.

Anoint the map to make it easier if you are struggling, grey oils make all monsters slower If I remember right but my go to for making a blight map easier is amber oil just so you can put loads of towers down. Most lower tier oils make the map easier trending towards more loot for higher tier oils.

Lastly before I get into specifics towers only attack if you are relatively close to them, this is the #1 thing that catches players out and somewhat cucks the entire mechanic - your defences should all be built within like 2 screens distance from your character. Any further and they just don't shoot until you move closer.

Ok so now the specifics to make it easy, 2 tier 3 stun towers + an empower tower will just about stunluck unlimited mobs that aren't stun immune (map mods important here but mobs that come out of a phys portal are stun immune too). This means on some blight map layouts you can literally defend 10 lanes with 3 towers. That strat basically covers at least 50% of the blight maps you'll run.

To handle everything else I usually do a pair of ring anoints, one for meteor towers leave burning ground - this does pretty great AoE dps but more importantly kills proxy shield monsters. Second one is "Your Chilling Towers freeze enemies for 0.2 seconds while they are affected by chilling beams", this sounds a bit scuffed from its description but basically chill towers will perma freeze whatever they are shooting. This is amazing for guarding at the back near the pump or any layouts with lots of phys portals.

The chill one is more expensive oil wise so at the start of a league i'll generally just use scout towers do 25% increased damage on both rings as scout towers are usually the tower i dump everywhere after i've setup a few chokes to stun everything. Just remember scout towers won't shoot enemies from minion portals so you have to check before dumping them everywhere.

https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/List_of_anointments list of the anoints and the oils they require on that page.

So just as a quick tower list of ones worth building

Arc, Scout, Meteor for general damage

Stun, Chill, Temporal for control

Empower anywhere you can hit a good chunk of your own towers.

That's basically it, you will occasionally got a really shit layout where you get 1 tower at the pump and none for ages and for those you just have to accept its probably scuffed but most are just plonk the towers i mentioned down in a group then fill the gaps in with damage towers. I'd do triple amber anoints on your next few just to practice then switch them out when your comfortable playing with less towers.

Edit: opposite to above you'll also get extremely free layouts sometimes, I had a crimson temple this league where every lane went through a choke and I just put 6 towers down and went afk.

Thanks much, I appreciate this a lot!
