Need help with damage

Hi, I'm a relatively new player who has only played in a couple of leagues starting with Sentinel.

I am following Ghazzy's Herald Of Purity build guide: https://www.poe-vault.com/guides/herald-of-purity-guardian-build-guide but my damage is no where near where it should be according to the guide.

I have followed it as well as I can, and I am trying to use this league to learn more about the game to really dig in next league.

Am I missing something about why I am doing like no damage? I have managed to clear through some decently high tier maps but it is very slow and inconsistent.

Any help and information about what I should be looking at both in this build and for other builds in general would be super helpful, thanks!

So first of all: Why do you have a hybrid flask? I suggest that you switch it for a basalt flask for more defence.



For clearing, swap your predator and multistrike for melee splash and minion speed. The ones you have in are just for bossing/big enemies (single target)
Also buy yourself atleast lvl 20 support gems, shouldn´t be that expensive.

(As a tip, if you want to self level your gems: You can level them in your 2nd weapon set. Gems get there XP even when you are not using your 2nd weapon set, with this way you can level 6 gems without using any of your needed sockets)


You are not using animate guardian.
Get yourself a level 20 gem and look this guide up: https://www.poe-vault.com/guides/ghazzys-animate-guardian-gearing-guide (TLDR: Cheap items are Leer cast and dying breath which increase your damage a lot)


For your shield you can swap it for a shild which has "+1 to Level of all Minion Skill Gems" Prefix and for your non-unique ring you should swap it to a "Bone Ring" with "Minions deal #% increased Damage" prefix. (ofc don`t forget your elemental resistances)

For your abyssal jewels i can only quote the guide again:

Jewel Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Minion Accuracy to make sure your minions have 100% chance to hit
3. Added flat physical (or cold, lightning, fire) damage to your minions
4. Increased x% minion damage, when you’ve used a minion skill recently
5. Minion attack speed
6. Attributes and/or resistances if needed

Espacially your abyssal jewel in your belt on the right does not give you anything.



BTW: You can reroll the implicit of an item with a blessed orb. They are cheap, so don`t worry about it. (For example your shild has 8 % increased minion damage atm, but it can have up to 10 %. It is not much, but a little bit)

I had no idea that was the proper way to use AG (and now learning about spectres too) and had just dropped that skill finding it completely useless.

And yeah I will pay a little more attention to the smaller stuff like implicits and flasks and everything.

For spectre if you are looking for a specific one (most player use at least arena master and pale seraphim atm) go in global channel 6666. People share them for free. (You go in their hideout and spam descerate until you find the needed spectres, you can target corpses - standard is the A button. If it is not working check your settings for "corpse targeting")
