Please add a new Latin American server

I speak on behalf of the latin american community playing PoE.
We love this game, we're addicted, you've got us.

However, we have a problem and it's server choice. Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia all have 100+ ms latency to Brasil, Texas or Washington.

As you can imagine, playing at 100+ms makes the game really unenjoyable with certain builds that require fast pacing. Lockstep is a no-go since the delay makes the experience terrible.

I'm sure you could partner with Valve and burrow some of their Peruvian servers they use for Dota2 or CS:GO which work GREAT.

Please consider adding another option for us latin americans, so that we can enjoy the game on low latency 🙏

South America doesn't really have dense internet backbones. Brazil is the best pick honestly. It's not like NA where there's multiple concentrations of backbone areas.

Distance matters for connectivity but not much as the connections along the way.

NA has 3 ideal spots, California, Texas and New York. SA doesn't really have any Focused spots. There are still very much dead spots in NA because it's structured based on population. SA seems to go a more generalized method of routing where it's evenly distributed along the continent.

What I'm saying is SA should probably have a north and south server while NA should have 3.
But they likely won't do either.

It's true that routing isn't great here, but Valve has demonstrated that Peru has good enough servers and routing for most of (if not all) of Latin America (excluding Brazil, which already has its own server).

Valve has done it already for Dota2 and CS:GO and it works wonderfully. And servers in Peru are dirt cheap too.
bump

as someone with peruvian grandparents and naturally toxic in dota 2 i second this message as PoE has allowed me to grief through builds and self flagellation of playing melee without hurting others.

but yeah a dedicated south american server would be great . im sure there is a pretty growing poe scene down there as dota 2 is HUGE over there.
to my melee brothers hold your wallet until actual melee is addressed

lol
i know from other games is that porto alegre (south of brazil) is very good for nearby countries like argentina, uruguay and paraguay and others like peru and bolivia also benefit
otherwise should be santiago on chile, i don't believe other countries have the requirements in their infrastructure, sadly

the companies put the server whatever the country with more population, but the truth is that the infrastructure and stability of the network is more important. Brazil has a very poor internet service, countries like Chile are leaders in Latin America and worldwide are within the ranking of countries with more connectivity, Peru and Argentina are viable options too, but Brazil is absolutely not. Riot has servers in Chile for LATAM and Valve has multiple servers in Chile, Peru and Brazil independently.
