DirectX 12 crash to desktop on launch
I used to run DirectX 12 all the time before an update this summer, but ever since the update DirectX 12 crashes PoE. It crashes before I even get into the login screen, and I had to manually go into the config file and change from it to be even able to launch and play the game.
Using Vulkan or DirectX 11 is awful. It stutters and lags pretty much all the time, and doesn't feel at all smooth like DirectX 12 did before the summer update. I want to play the game, but it's not been fun to play with these lags, and I don't want to have to get a geforce subscription or something similar when I already have a relatively new computer with good parts I've tried reporting in the bug forum but gotten no answer, and I still have these issues. I want to be able to play smoothly on DirectX 12 like before. Is there a way I can help you help me play? Last bumped on Nov 11, 2023, 1:15:35 PM

You are making the mistake of assuming it is the game and not the A770, which a quick google search with your issues (Intel Arc A770 issue with dx12 crash to desktop) brings up multiple games having issues and not just crashing to desktop but even BSoD's
Going with something that isn't either nvidia/amd is asking for trouble especially as new as intel are in the GFX card scene it's taken amd years to be competing performance wise with nvidia and their drivers were a big problem for years (still are depending on who you ask) intel would be looking at issues for years until they get it figured out Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

It's the game. Tons of reports about it right now. GGG is silent.

" Yes, but also, I played 6 months without any issues and smooth as day until the patch this summer - I've had other issues with the graphics card which have been smoothed out. I don't doubt that my issue is an issue between PoE and my graphics card, which a very small subset of users are using, but it is still a bit outside of my control to make fixes Do you think I should report these issues to Intel instead and believe it's their responsibility? |
